Suffering from low back pain (LBP)? You’re not alone! In the United States, LBP remains one of the primary reasons people seek medical care, and is the medical condition associated with the highest overall cost. Thankfully, the majority of time LBP is caused by things that can be addressed without surgery, and there is a lot of wonderful research to support conservative management ie Physical therapy! LBP presents in a lot of different ways, and impacts all of us a little differently.
Research in physical therapy had covered and described how to treat the following types of LBP:
Acute -pain less than x2 weeks
Chronic -pain that is greater than a month
Acute on chronic - pain you’ve had before that comes and goes
With pain radiating into the legs (both acute and chronic)
